מתרגלת, מלמדת ולומדת דהרמה ומדיטציה משנת 1989. מתוכן, ארבע וחצי שנים כנזירה במנזרים בודהיסטים (תרהוודה) בתאילנד.​   שימי מנחה סדנאות של ויפאסנה  ובעשייתה רואה חשיבות להבאת תשומת הלב לחיי היום יום . מחלוצות תחום המיינדפולנס והתאמתו לילדים. מפתחת תוכנית "שפת הקשב" לטיפוח מיומנויות קשב (מיינדפולנס) בילדים ובמערכת החינוך. מתגוררת עם משפחתה במעגן מיכאל.  Dana to Simi Levi
Has practiced vipassana meditation since 1988, including four years as a nun in Thailand. Simi leads seminars and retreats in vipassana meditation in Israel. In her work, she emphasizes bringing awareness to everyday life.
