ממקימי אתר "בודהיזם בישראל", מעורכי כתב העת המקוון של "בודהיזם בישראל", ומיוזמי תכנית "שבילים רבים דהרמה אחת".
אילן מלמד בודהיזם ומדיטציה במסגרות שונות. גישתו משלבת לימוד מעמיק של המקורות בשילוב התרגול המדיטטיבי ויישומיו המעשיים כאימון יום-יומי ודרך חיים המובילה לערות ולחופש.
אילן מלמד ומלווה מנחים בפרויקט "מדיטציה אחד על אחד", המציע הנחיה אישית וליווי בתרגול מדיטציה למתמודדים עם סרטן ומחלות מאיימות חיים.

Ilan is a teacher and educator by profession. He came across Buddhism while a Philosophy student and since 1996 has been studying and practicing the Buddhist path with numerous teachers from the Theravada and Mahayana traditions. He is a founding member of "Akoda" and "Middle Way", organizations that bring tools and insights from the Buddhist practice into social action for promoting a culture of non-violence, compassion and peace.
He is a co-translator into Hebrew of the books End of Time by Krishnamurti, What the Buddha Taught, by Walpola Rahula and Samasati-An Exposition of Right...
התוודעה לויפאסאנה בשיטת ס. ג’י. גואנקה ב-1998, כשעבדה כבר כפסיכולוגית קלינית, והיתה אם לשלושה בנים.
פירות התירגול וכח השכנוע הפנימי שהרגישה ביחס להשקפת העולם שבבסיסו, שכנעו אותה מייד, לצד חרטה עמוקה על שלא הסתייעה בכלים שתירגול תשומת לב קשובה וריכוז עמוק מציעים לעזור בהם הן לעצמה והן למטופלים.
למדה שלוש שנים בתוכנית פסיכודהרמה, תירגלה בריטריטים בהודו ובקורס מהמודרה 1 עם יונגי מינגור רינפוצ’ה, ממנו קיבלה שם חסות וברכת דרך. השתתפה בארבעה מחזורים בתוכנית מאפשרי דהרמה שהנחה כריסטופר טיטמוס, ובריטריטים רבים.
