Coping with Illness and pain retreat with Stephen Fulder and Lila Kimhi
A weekend retreat designed for people who are dealing with chronic Pain or ilness.
In the heart of suffering lies opportunity.
A weekend of meditation practice and study of the Buddhists approach to suffering. Together we will examine the the way in which the Buddhists dharma suggests to deal with pain and illness and alleviating the suffering that accompanies them. Meditation and awareness of the present moment give us new tools to face hardship and accept painful and unpleasant experiences in our lives in a clam and positive way.
The daily schedule consists of guided meditation, talks which shed light on the Biddhist approach to suffering and group disscussions which will give participants an opportunity to share their experiences fromtheir own lives and from the retreat itself.
The course is intended for people who are currently dealing with illness and pain and for the who are functioning as caretakers for these people.
From within the stillness of this practice, we will acknowledge our inner strength, a strength that will come to our aid at times of confusion, change and struggle.
"If a loving person were standing in front of you,
handing out to you a healing stone,
holding within it the possibility of living comfortabely with pain or without it,
in sickness or in health,
wouldn't you reach out your hand and take it?
Be this person to yourself"
