What is insight meditation (Vipassana)?
Vipassana meditation is a meditation practice rooted in the buddhist tradition, which is part of a spiritual path directed towards lfe of freedom and alertness.
Awakening to the present moment is allowing understanding and accepting our nature and the nature of the things in our world. this practice is tuning us to inner attention that opens our hearts, deepens our understanding and allowing our consciousness to become clear to the wisdom and compassion within us and from here to inner freedom.
What Tavana course includes?
Wheather you've experienced insight meditation (Vipassana) and wheather you wish to begin, this course is an opportunity to devote full attention and energy for practicing the technique in optimal conditions.
Most of the day is dedicated to alternate walking and sitting meditations, in ficed periods of time. In each day detailed instructions are given about the meditation technique, and in the evening a talk is given by the teachers that with the meditation principles and theis connection to the daily and personal reality of our lives.
In the spirit of buddhist tradition, the teachers and staff are working on voluntary basis, and don't get any salary. The participation in the course is also offered to the students without a fixed price. In the end of the course, there will be an apportunity to give a donation for covering the costs of the course and donation to the teachers.
The course is open for everyone - new to meditation and experienced.

In order to maintain and ensuring their success, there is a need for many helping hands, both as kitchen stuff, and mainly for course and kitchen administration.
The volunteers experiencing "service retreat", and it’s a great opportunity to combine giving and meditating and is being a rich practice and a bridge between sitting on the pillow and practicing in day to day life.
Tovana is based and managed mostly by volunteers. During the yearlong around 200 yogis are volunteering aside to 50 activists in permanent roles.
