Community Dharma - A day of discussion, vision and hope
Community Dharma - A day of discussion, vision and hope
Dharma in the Community, Dharma in the City......Where is it Going, What is our Role?
All through the Western World, dharma practitioners are finding new ways and opportunities to reach a much wider audience. For example mindfulness training is becoming popular for professionals, business people, the sick and other groups; dharma is often at the cutting edge of social change, it is entering education, and spreading through community groups. The retreats are still an excellent model for learning and practice of dharma, but the time is right and the need is there for dharma to take new forms and reach those who cannot go on retreat. There is currently a discussion among dharma teachers and organisations on the best forms and ways to bring dharma into the street. We would like to examine together what is currently happening, where it might go, and if and how to develop this outreach in Israel, both personally and also as Tovana.
Those who are experienced in dharma practice, or volunteer and manage Tovana, or are teaching dharma are invited.
Come and offer your ideas, and visions, your voice
