Families course with Simi Levi and Stephen Fulder

We are happy to invite you to the annual families retreat on 11-14/7/12 in Ein Dor.

Going on its 6th year, the Tovana Families course gives practitioners a unique opportunity to bridge between what may seem as two different and separate worlds: Family and daily life on one hand, and on the other hand the world of Dharma and meditation practice, and to explore the experience of a practicing family, the family as a place for spiritual practice.

Actiivity: The course will hold several modes of activity: "regular" mediation practice for adults, "Sfat Hakeshev" activities for children over the age of 5, group practice for the entire community and family paractice. We will combine fun, movement and games with silence, mindfulness and self investigation.

The course puts an emphasis on the traditional practice as done in regualr meditation retreats, sitting and walking mediatation and dharma talks in the hall and in small groups. The course is built with the intention of allowing as much free time as possible for parents to focus on  their own practice. Therfore registration for the retreat will be done in consideration with trying to create same age groups for children.

The course will not offer activities for children under 5.  Parents of toddlers will be asked to accompany them throughout the entire course. This age group will have a classroom available to them for activities and playing. Parents are welcome to bring games, toys, books, colors and papers, all of which will be kept in the classroom.

Registration conditions:

Due to the relative complexities of this retreat, its expenses are higher than in regualr retreats and thus the price is fixed:

Couple witn one child: NIS 1,426

Couple with 2 children: NIS 1,625

Couple with 3 children: NIS 1,907

There is a non-refundable NIS 200 registration fee. 

Cancellations are possible until the end of June, afterwhich the full sum will not be refunded.

The prices above include expenses (room & board) and do not include Dana for the teachers, to be given seperateley at the end of the retreat. Families which are interested in a detailed breakdown of the costs are welcome to make contact.

The family course provides the setting for a multi-aged meeting, during which a community will be created which will work in mutual   cooperation to allow a supportive environment for parents and children during practice and other activities. This requires a great deal of responsability from all family members, therfore we request the following:

Families with 2 or more children below the age of 5 cannot attend the course.

Children under the age of 5 must be accompanied at all times by at least one parent.

Participants must attend the entire length of the course.

Participants must attend at least two meditations sessions per day, morning and/or evening.

All participants are requested to volunteer in children's activities and in other chores to be done during the course.
