With Simi Levi and Dani Roth
Locaition: Ein-Dor
We are happy to invite you to family course in the spirit of the dharma which will be held in Ein-Dor.
Differs from other Tovana retreats, the focus here in on the connection between the Dharma and the family/comunity life, supporting the Sangha, guided by the teachers. Most of the practice will happen through taking care of your children and staying with them, and the participation in the course operation, and only the minor part will happen while maditating formally. The course is suited for families with interest of getting the Dharma into their daily life, and at least one of the parents attented a long retreat in the past.
The goal is to experience the Dharma in the comunity, see how the bridge connecting the practice and family life could be constructed, fields that from time to time look very distinct in daily life. We'll see how being parents and use the tools and qualities that are being developed in the way of the Dharma for the whole family to profit. The life in the comunity inside the course, open a window for connecting and getting to know other families, between kids on the brick of puberty, to little kids, between young parents and teenagers, the intimacy formed in the course allow us a wider view on our role in the comunity, a role that diverges from our role inside the nuclear family. The first 2 days will focus on the prticipants to get to know each other, and forming the texture which will allow the course management in sharing and harmony. Here, there is a challenge that the course enforces on us, the course is built so the parents will 'operate' the kids the majority of the day, the parents are required to come up with activities for parent-child or children alone, in the areas of atrs, movement or group play.
In the retreat will operate several centers of activity, in fixed times. Inside the meditation hall, there will be formal practice though out the day, so that parent of duty could sit from his role as a parent, working in the kitchen and the comunal education areas. Group conversations with the teachers and Dharma talks will be held dauly, and will be the necessary back rest for connecting the Dharma with daily family life, coming to reality in kitchen duty, taking care of the kids and intructing family activities.
Kids under the age of 5 are required a close monitoring of one of the parents, and families with more than one child of this age couldn't participate. One parent could participate with a most 2 children, if their older than 5 years old. Furthermore, the retreat is suited only for families which at least one of the parents had sat a full long scilent retreat.
