סטיבן פולדר הוא המייסד והמורה הישראלי הבכיר של עמותת תובנה. מתרגל מדיטצית ויפאסנה משנת 1975. סטיבן הוא מדען שהקדיש את חייו לבחינה של רוחניות וריפוי פנימיים וחיצוניים: התמחותו היא בתחום צמחי המרפא, פרסם 12 ספרים אקדמיים והוא מנחה קורסים של מדיטציה ודהרמה ברחבי הארץ. סטיבן דוגל בשימוש בדהרמה לקידום שלווה בחברה. הוא ממייסדי ומחברי ההנהלה של שביל זהב, עמותה לקידום אי אלימות, חמלה ושלום בחברה. כמו כן, הוא חבר בהנהלה של אזרחים למען הסביבה.

This is the site of Dr. Stephen Fulder. It is mostly intended as a storehouse of writings, talks and materials which are freely available to all, rather than a constantly updated blog. Most of the materials are concerned with the dharma, or liberating teachings and insights based on Buddhism in practice. Stephen is a pioneer of Buddhism in Israel, since his introduction into Israel of Vipassana meditation in the 1980's, and joins a number of teachers who have helped to create a Western Buddhism which has grown and developed within a western cultural context. There are many articles and reflections, mostly written for beginners, as well as some important or classical articles written by others. There are also some of his writings within his professional world of herbs and alternative medicine, although it must be said that much of that is published as books and not available in electronic form. The site is structured as follows: The headings in Hebrew contain only Hebrew materials and the headings in English only English language materials. They are of two types, either articles written by Stephen under the page 'My Articles', or materials written by others, under the heading 'General Articles'. The talks are all in English unless specifically mentioned as being in Hebrew.
