The cultivation of mindfulness and the return to mindfulness is the key to inner freedom, while we dicover and abandon the patterns and conditioning that prevent us from experiencing freedom and love as basic qualities of consciousness. These qualities are available to us in each moment, and through the cultivation and practice of mindfulness we are able to become familiar with them and experience them directly.
Most of the time we live on "Automatic pilot", responding automatically to thought patterns which have been rooted in our consciousness and have become habits which condition our reactions. The quiet and objective introspection helps us see the patterns that control our lives, understand what makes us react and free ourselves from patters and conditioning that ties us down and causes suffering. When the practice deepens, we develop peace and stability while wisdom and compassion deepen.
